John Hollis, Co-Founder and Principal
John is the co-founder and a principal of Strategic College Funding Solutions, Inc. After graduating from the University of Dayton (OH) with a B.A. in Management, John entered the Financial Services Industry. During his twenty years in the Financial Services Industry, John's accomplishments have been recognized both locally as well as nationally.
John is the Co-Author of the book “Learn How To Give Your Child a 4 Year College Education Without Going Broke” and the report “9 New Ways to Beat the High Cost of College” along with a monthly college funding newsletter. In addition, John speaks at various schools, libraries, churches, Adult & Community Education programs and is known throughout the community as an expert in Advanced Scholastic and Financial Planning. He was also featured on WDOK's "Cleveland Connection" with host, Jim McIntyre. John helps train and teach over 200 College Funding Advisors across the nation and was ranked as "1 of the Top 10 College Funding Advisors in the Country” by the National Association of College Funding Advisors. John is also a principal founding member of The College Planning Network, LLC - the nation's largest and most reputable college admissions and financial aid servicing center (www.collegeplanningnet.com) and the ONLY service center in the country endorsed by The National Association of College Funding Advisors.
John resides in Highland Heights with his wife and five children. He enjoys playing golf, coaching various sports and spending time with his family. John is also very active in charities that include Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital, Ronald McDonald, the YMCA, and the American Cancer Society.
Scott Weingold, Co-Founder and Principal
Scott graduated with a Finance degree from John Carroll University and is the co-founder and a principal of Strategic College Funding Solutions, Inc. Scott is Co-Author of the book “Learn How To Give Your Child a 4 Year College Education Without Going Broke” and the report “9 New Ways to Beat the High Cost of College” plus a monthly college funding newsletter. Scott also speaks at various schools, libraries, churches, Adult & Community Education programs and is known throughout the community as an expert in "late stage" College Planning.
He was featured on WDOK's "Cleveland Connection" with host, Jim McIntyre. Scott also helps train and teach over 200 college funding advisors across the nation and was ranked "1 of the Top 10 College Funding Advisors in the Country” by the National Association of College Funding Advisors along with being recognized as one of the Top 20 Cleveland business people "On The Rise". He publishes a popular online e-letter, "College Funding Made Simple", which reveals insider tips, tricks, and strategies for beating the high cost of college.
Scott is also a principal founding member of The College Planning Network, LLC - the nation's largest and most reputable college admissions & financial aid servicing center (www.collegeplanningnet.com) and the ONLY service center in the country endorsed by The National Association of College Funding Advisors.
Scott resides in Solon with his wife, Alison, and daughter, Sydney. He enjoys traveling and spending time with family and friends. Adam Blumenthal, Sales Manager Adam received his Bachelors of Science in Business with an emphasis in Marketing and Finance from Miami University of Ohio in 1998 and has spent over 12 years as a business professional focused primarily in the Mortgage Industry. Before joining the College Planning Network, he served Capital Mortgage Services, Inc. in the position of Regional Vice-President of Sales. Previously, his entrepreneurial drive led him to develop Avalon Financial Corp, a firm specializing in client payment processing. Adam has been actively involved with the American Cancer Society and has assisted in the development of the American Cancer Society Charity Golf Tournament (Geauga Region). In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Elana, and his young son, Aiden.
Kristen Chemnitz, Service Center Specialist Kristen is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin- Madison where she majored in psychology and anthropology. Originally from Chagrin Falls, she also lived overseas for three years in the Netherlands where she learned to speak Dutch and German. She moved back to Cleveland after college and joined the SCFS team. She currently lives in Cleveland Heights with her cat, Sadie.
In her free time, Kristen enjoys spending time with her friends and family, shopping, and rooting for the Cleveland Cavs and Badger football.
Cathy Eben, Education Specialist
Cathy is a graduate of Marquette University. She previously worked as a purchasing manager for The Boelter Companies of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and in marketing with Schwarz Pharmaceuticals. She has spent time as a Junior Achievement Representative and as a Cub Scout Leader for her children’s school. She is also a member of PEO (Philanthropic Educational Opportunities) and is involved in the Mother's Club at
Cathy, her husband John, and their 3 sons, Rick, Alex and Jeff, relocated to the Cleveland area from Milwaukee, WI. They are enjoying the many parks of the Emerald Necklace in their free time.
Maureen Greidanus, New Business Specialist
Maureen graduated from Mercyhurst College in Erie, PA where she majored in Business Management. After overseeing non-profit, corporate, and financial offices throughout the North East and Florida, she joined SCFS as a New Business Specialist in 2006.
Maureen resides in Huron with her husband, Tony, and cat, Jackson. She enjoys traveling and the arts.
Pam Kijauskas, Assistant Client Service Specialist
Pam attended Notre Dame College and spent the last eight years living in Indianapolis. She joined the SCFS team in August of 2009.
Pam resides in Russell with her two children and enjoys supporting them in their activities. She’s happy to be back home close to family and friends.
Lisa A. Janasek, SCFS Advisor Services / Recruiting Director
Lisa is a graduate of the University of Dayton where she received a degree in Communications & Marketing. She joined SCFS in 2006 in our Advisor Services Department.
Lisa resides in Solon with her three children Timmy, Joey and Annie Rose. In her free time, she enjoys cooking and spending time with her family and friends.
Sarah Lehman, Service Center Specialist Sarah graduated from Bowling Green State University, where she specialized in Marketing. While studying, Sarah enjoyed getting involved on campus and volunteering for Autism Speaks and Choose Children. After graduating, she joined the SCFS team in March of 2010. Sarah hopes to return to school one day and earn her MBA. As a former member of North East Ohio’s Junior Olympic Volleyball team, Sarah enjoys staying active and being outdoors. Her other interests include boating, golfing, crafting, and laughing. Maureen Mackar, Client Service Specialist Maureen attended John Carroll University in University Heights, OH, majoring in Communications and Marketing. Prior to joining the Strategic College Funding Solutions team, she worked in Community Relations and Marketing for Barnes & Noble Booksellers and as Sales and Marketing Coordinator for Q-Sport Activewear. In 2007, Maureen (and her twin sister, Kathleen) established the Michael G. Shaughnessy Memorial Scholarship at Lake Catholic High School in Mentor, OH. She currently resides in Painesville with her husband, Chris.
Robyn Mills, Assistant Client Service Specialist
Robyn is a Cleveland native and attended the University of Akron. In her free time she enjoys reading Patricia Cornwell and James Patterson books. She also enjoys all sports and especially likes cheering on the Indians and Cavs. Robyn lives in Mayfield and has two children, Kailey and Tyler.
Jodi Polster, SCFS Service Center Supervisor
Jodi is a Cleveland native and graduated from The Ohio State University with a degree in Consumer Affairs. After living in Chicago, she moved back to Cleveland to work for The Ritz-Carlton, Cleveland. She later joined Strategic College Funding Solutions Inc. as the Service Center Supervisor.
Jodi ran her first marathon in January 2006. In her free time she enjoys playing tennis and spending time with her friends, family and dog.
Alicia Richardson, Service Center Specialist
Alicia graduated from the University of Akron where she received a degree in Education with a focus on Political Science and History. Before joining the SCFS team, she interned with Campus Progress, a project of the Center for American Progress, in Washington, DC.
Alicia resides in Aurora with her daughter, Samantha. She enjoys camping with her family on warm summer weekends and cheering on her daughter’s athletic teams throughout the year. Alicia is very excited to have been recently named a Co-Leader and Camping Coordinator for her daughter’s Junior Girl Scout troop. Joanna Rini, Service Center Specialist Joanna recently graduated from Ohio University with a major in Education and minor in Communications and now lives in Highland Heights. Her favorite times include those that she spends with her family and friends. An animal lover, vegetarian and advocate for healthy living, Joanna loves cooking nutritious foods. She also ejnoys traveling, shopping, reading, and movies. Her number one passion is helping others, and that along with her emphasis on higher education, is what led her to SCFS. Samantha Stanek, Service Center Specialist Samantha is a recent graduate of Miami University where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Strategic Communication. She was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha sorority and the Public Relations Student Society of America. She is a sports enthusiast and previously worked for the Cleveland Cavaliers and Fox Sports Ohio. In her free time, Samantha enjoys traveling, watching sports, shopping, and spending time with family and friends. Carly Stoll, Assistant New Business Specialist Carly is a graduate of Baldwin-Wallace College where she majored in Business Administration and Human Resources. She joined the SCFS team in November of 2009. Carly resides in Avon Lake. She enjoys spending time with friends and family, reading, warm weather and Cleveland sports. CPN EDUCATION CONSULTANTS
Chad Cranor Chad is a former Marine of 5 years, where he spent most of the time traveling the world and experiencing new cultures. He has a business degree from the University of Indiana and spent 10 years in the financial sector as a consultant to many private companies. Chad has 2 children, 10 year old son named Jackson and a 9 year old daughter named Chase. Chad has lived in Cleveland since 2002 and is currently training to do his first full Triathlon this year. Alex Fifner Alex attended the University of Dayton where he majored in Finance . Prior to joining SCFS, Alex was a financial advisor in Cleveland and Honolulu, HI. He currently lives in Downtown Cleveland and in his spare time enjoys golfing and riding his motorcycle. Rob Gilham Rob attended Purdue University for two years prior to joining the U.S. Navy. He served 10 years in the submarine service, including duty during Desert Storm, 1990. Rob completed his Bachelors Degree and MBA, both in Finance, at Chaminade University in Honolulu, HI and spent 10 years in the Banking Industry in both analyst and lending capacities. Rob and his wife Clare reside in Broadview Heights, OH. He enjoys golf, travel and helping families with a variety of financial needs. He is a member of the American Legion, Maple Heights, OH, the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Arie 427, the Am Vets, Richfield, OH and a lifetime member of the VFW. Rod Meeker
Rod attended Bowling Green State University majoring in computer science education. Following college Rod spent 11 years in mortgage banking, and many of those years were devoted to helping people restructure their debt and budget to help pay for college. Rod entered college planning in 2006 and joined Strategic College Funding Solutions in 2008.
Rod was born in Cortland, Ohio and lived most of his adult life there but recently moved to Aurora. He has two daughters, ages 5 & 11. Rod spent 5 years coaching high school basketball and track and is still very active in those activities. Rod is also an active volunteer and supporter of Leukemia Team in Training, Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure and the Rainbow Babies Hospital Telethon. Tim Marotta Tim attended Bowdoin College and Georgetown University majoring in Political Science and playing NCAA football and baseball. His business career started right out of college, rising to the rank of Executive Director of Filter Division with Mr. Coffee. When the company was sold, Tim became Director of Sales for a meeting and event management company, Memorable Meetings. Tim is a Director on the Board of Shaker Heights Country Club and is involved in multiple charitable organizations in Cleveland, Ohio. Brian Rosen Brian is a recent graduate of The Ohio State University where he studied journalism. During college, Brian co-created the Cleveland sports-related website, LeBrownsTown.com. His duties included writing, editing and organizing the site's advertising program. In his spare time, Brian enjoys reading, writing and watching sports and spending time with family and friends. Richard Weiss Richard is a graduate of The Ohio State University where he obtained his business degree. He has over 20 years experience as a business analyst and process improvements specialist for various private companies. Richard resides in Beachwood with his wife and 3 children. Dean Caserio
Dean earned his Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from Cleveland State University in 1991 and has been in the financial services industry since graduation. He joined the SCFS team in 2007.
Dean lives in Highland Heights with his wife, Jennifer, and three sons, Joey, Dominic and Carmen. They are active with Make-A-Wish Foundation and various other charities.
Bill Faber
Bill has been assisting clients with financial planning for the past 21 years. Throughout his career he has developed Retirement Programs for the Gund Foundation and the Cleveland Bar Association and has advised numerous others who want to protect their principal and insure that their money lasts well into their retirement years.
Bill is an accredited member of the National Ethics Bureau and he joined the Strategic College Funding Solutions team to help assist families through the difficult and potentially costly college funding process. He is a graduate of Allegheny College where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and English and also has an MBA from Kent State University. He has lectured on financial topics at Cleveland State University for over ten years.
Matthew Hisey
Matt received his BA in Business Administration and Arts Management from Baldwin Wallace College. Following college, he worked in corporate finance and management for over ten years and transitioned to a career in personal finance eight years ago. Matt has been a featured speaker about financial services for various organizations and venues in the Cleveland area, and has also been featured in local publications including MiMi Vanderhaven’s and The Sun News. He has been a member of the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT), an exclusive, independent association that is recognized as an international standard of excellence in the financial services industry.
Matt resides in Medina, Ohio with his wife Amy, teenage son and two young daughters.
Daniel Jindra
Dan is a graduate of the University of Dayton and entered the college planning business in 2004.
He resides in Strongsville with his wife and is the father of four. He enjoys golf and spending time with his family.
Gordy McKeown
Gordy attended Wichita State University on a golf scholarship and was part of the Center for Entrepreneurship. While at WSU, Gordy was named All Missouri Valley Conference.
Gordy has been a successful business owner for the past 18 years, and he joined the SCFS team in 2007.
Bob Tramont
Bob is a retired Marine Corps Officer. He flew helicopters for 16 years in the Marine Corps and served overseas with contingency operations in Somalia, Liberia, Haiti and Iraq. Bob was a graduate of the flight program with a BS in Aerospace Technology at Kent State University before receiving his commission in 1989. Upon his retirement he became a financial advisor helping families with creating plans to pay for debt, college and retirement.
Bob has three daughters, one at Ohio State University, one at Northern Arizona University, Flagstaff and one in high school. His wife, Julie, spends her time caring for and giving companionship to assisted living residents. |
